City Center Master Plan Visualization
Located in the heart of Rio Rancho's Downtown City Center, the City of Vision Studios project was a unique exercise in visualizing development opportunities within an untouched yet-to-be urban city center. This undeveloped land provides a blank canvas ripe for the culmination and expression of a fresh community identity. Utilizing mixed-use theories, the goal was to generate a vibrant pedestrian oriented community blending amenities such as grocery, retail, restaurant uses into a single urban fabric; a fabric which will define the future downtown streetscape.
Live / Work / Play
The design consisted of placing community support services at the street level along a main access drive which is highlighted by the pedestrian circulation and access spine. Office and Live-work elements are proposed on upper levels generating a strong interconnected live-work environment. It was important that the streetscape provide ample parking for patrons while slowing traffic speeds to pedestrian friendly levels generating a safe active environment accessible by automobile or public transportation.
